Tune in nd stream the raw and unfiltered new single “Come After Me” by East Tampa rapper Taleban Dooda via District 18 / Warner Records. It’s the rising MC’s first solo release of 2023, and it comes with a suitably savvy video that lays down the gauntlet for haters. Watch it here.

Featuring a killer guitar hook, “Come After Me” showcases Dooda’s melodic, sing-song flow as he sets the rules for engagement. “Once you’re in it, you’re in it, there’s no duckin’ beef,” he raps over aggressive beats. If you want the 20-year-old, you better be prepared to take on his entire crew: “All they need is one word from me.”

Benny Flash directed the video for the track, which perfectly captures the track’s raucous, freewheeling tone. In the video, Dooda dances at an outdoor party with his homies and generally has a wild time. In late 2022, the Florida upstart released Step Wit A Passion, which featured the undeniable single “If It Happens It Happens.” “Come After Me” follows that.

Dooda’s other release in 2022, White Chalk & Yellow Tape, is an incredibly cohesive effort. The collection featured “It’s Me,” a series of verbal vignettes about the MC’s past over piano notes and a minimal drum beat, and “Go” – a track that takes aim at social beef. He released a number of singles in the past, including “Foreigns & Trackhawks,” “Sunset,” and “Call 100 Times.”
