Smashing Pumpkins Issue Statement on D’arcy, Tour

0

All hell is breaking loose as the Smashing Pumpkins do what bands do and argue and break up etc. (Unless you are the Rolling Stones).  Wish it were not so but when you have so many egos, personalities, ideas and such a long history, these things tend to happen.

Not sure what the truth of this story is after D’arcy recently shared texts of her convo with Billy Corgan, but we hope they can all come together for the fans on this tour. D’arcy seems to have some shoulder issues going on and physical ailments are what they are, but she also shed light on the history of the band in an interview with AlternativeNation. Hoping this gets worked out. Currently the band’s website has a countdown  set to expire at 12/noon on Thursday. Check out the band’s statement below:

In reuniting The Smashing Pumpkins, the band’s dedication remains to its fans and its music. To that, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and William Corgan haven’t played a show with D’arcy Wretzky for over 18 years. But it’s not for a lack of trying. For despite reports, Ms. Wretzky has repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred. We wish her all the best, and look forward to reconnecting with you all very soon.
