Mac Miller’s family has released his sixth and final studio album, Circles, after announcing the album and sharing a new track “Good News” last week. Conceived as a sister album to Grammy-nominated Swimming in 2018, the album was completed with the assistance of producer Jon Brion, with whom Miller worked on Swimming and at the time of his passage had been working together on Circles.

Although sonically distinct from its predecessor, Circles contains many of the hallmarks that Swimming was critically acclaimed for when it was released— Miller continued to realize his singing voice as well as rapping, live instrumentation and deep, sincere, confessional lyrical content. Listeners will hear shades of some of the influences of Circles in their songs, from “Surf”‘s T-Rex guitar tone to John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band-era feel of its production and the inspired cover of Arthur Lee’s 1972 single “Everybody’s Gotta Live.”

Circles can be found digitally all over the place via Warner Records and physical copies are available now for pre-order. Circles merch is also available online for a limited time only, ending at midnight PT next Thursday, January 23rd.
