The musician and diehard hockey fan Wyclef Jean’s new digital series Off-Ice with Wyclef Jean featured a new episode that was aired during the NHL’s Black History Month celebration. In the episode, there is an enlightening conversation about how by embracing the hip-hop community, the hockey community has made advancements. Then discussing how there is a much better cultural understanding, inclusivity, and acceptance of hip-hop within hockey. The conversation takes place between Jean, Blake Holden of the National Women’s Hockey League, Blake Coleman the center of Tampa Bay Lightning, Connor Carrick the New Jersey Devil’s defenseman, and Bryce Salvadore who is a former NHL player. Jean then freestyles “Bars over Hockey” with an acoustic guitar at the dinner table. You can check out the video below.
