Perfect for a hazy sunny LA day, Mac De Marco drops “On The Level” and we really like it as the title of this post suggests. It’s laid back, the drums are steady and the bass line is super solid. The track comes from Mac DeMarco’s forthcoming new studio-album This Old Dog on May 5 on the Captured Tracks imprint.
Moving from Queens to LA, Mac Demarco recorded this whole project in LA.
“I demoed a full album, and as I was moving to the West Coast I thought I’d get to finishing it quickly,” said DeMarco in a statement to the press. “But then I realized that moving to a new city, and starting a new life takes time. Usually I just write, record, and put it out; no problem. But this time, I wrote them and they sat. When that happens, you really get to know the songs. It was a different vibe.”
