In celebration of Black History Month, GoldLink took to Twitter, Inc. in New York for their first ever #BlackExcellenceUnplugged. Hosted by Twitter’s @BlackBirds, the event was open to less than 100 guests including GoldLink’s most loyal Twitter followers and industry taste-makers alike.
GoldLink’s performance was limited to 5 unreleased songs, and a jazzy rendition of his multi-platinum hit-single, “Crew”. When asked about the sounds, he revealed, “The new work is inspired by understanding cultures from around the world… If you go to London, if you go to some parts in Africa, some parts in Asia, there are black communities if every part, but there’s no bridge telling us just how similar we are.”
