I’m only gonna do one post on this because I’m not gonna go crazy on this NBA Finals with refs like this clearly getting paid and at the very least showing favoritism to the high paying Bay Area fans! The point swings on these plays are just too much for any team to overcome and they have ruined the Finals – this is a money grab for the NBA and they are just going to keep this gravy train rolling.
We all saw the Lebron blocking foul with KD in Game 1 and the restricted area, but in Game 2 Kevin Love didn’t make contact with Steph Curry on this play below. I get that you must allow a player to land, but look at the replay – Steph Curry is an actor. Even if its the right call, the refs have to make the same call at both ends of the floor for Lebron. This is almost like when Shaq couldn’t get calls because he was so big.
They also need to call offensive fouls when players jump into a defensive player and initiate contact with a player that jumps straight up. (see Klay Thompson 3 point foul) – the NBA said they would crack down on that this year but we haven’t seen too much of that.
In addition to the Lebron blocking foul in Game 1 on KD and the Ty Lue technical in Game 2 after all Draymond Green does on the court, this clearly smells of Tim Donaghy-like behavior.
I have no other explanations and am only left to blame KD for going to Golden Hate – yes… Golden Hate. Because now given what has happened Lebron is likely leaving to go somewhere like Philly or Houston, where the calls won’t matter because star power will be the difference maker in any future series.
